We like to decorate our tree the day after Thanksgiving, and as you can see we have a traditional tree with glass ornaments collected over the years. Husband/father says we have enough. Is he kidding?!!!
You can never have enough ornaments.
We collect ornaments that reflect our likes; apparantly we really, really, really like food.
And dresses too.
Hobbies are well represented,
We have traditional Christmas ornaments too.
We have birds
of all kinds that hang and clip on the branches. We have balls and bells, garlands and toys; more snowmen and Santas than you can count.

Last year I did red glass balls, checkered bows, and candy canes, so the four boxes of ornaments had a year off. This year, they are all going onto the tree.

Love your ornaments. How fun to collect what you like! We collect an ornament that reflects something we acomplished, a place we visited etc. for each person, each year. I usually have Christmas up by today, but couldnt get in the mood...you have inspired me!
ReplyDeleteOur daughters are home for Thanksgiving and they like to decorate so we get things up while they can help which is perfectly fine with me. :) That way we get to concentrate on baking and relaxing and just enjoying the tree for the next few weeks.

ReplyDeleteOh Wow -- it's beautiful Bonnie! And the new Santa is so cute too -- what a wonderful tradition. Have to laugh at your Hubby -- I totally agree -- you can never have too many! We've always had two trees -- one big real one with all the ornaments collected over the years, and one smaller fake one with only glass ornaments. I've started only putting up the big tree if all the kids are going to be home (which is every other year) -- it's so much work -- it takes me a day to put it up and a day to take it down. So this year it will only be the glass tree + plus other decor -- and that will be just fine! LOVE your glass tree!
