I had to take some bread to the Big, Bad, Bread Experience for dinner; to eat with soup. I was one of the teachers, more specifically one of the bread baking teachers. I am supposed to know how to make pretty loaves. I have made many, many loaves of this bread and it usually turns out lovely. The loaves started out well. They look just like they are supposed to. I scored them and put them into the oven. And they turned out like this...
I think that they look like bear heads from the side...without the ears. AARRGGHH!!!! How embarrassing.
At least they tasted good.

Actually Bonnie, they just look rustic, which is good:) The most important part is that they tasted delicious! Give me some butter and I would have been very happy to partake of your bread!
ReplyDeleteNot every loaf needs to look the same, I agree with Sue. I know it tasted wonderful. But it does make you crazy when things like that happen on the times when you wish that they would look their best. Oh, welll. The human condition.
ReplyDeleteI personally tasted come of this bread and it was fabulous. Nothing to be embarrassed about!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing your bread recipe and tips. My family loves this bread--I've made it twice in the past week.
