Merry Christmas!

I have not blogged for a long while.
I have a good excuse.
I've been busy.

I can't post photos of it all, because I'd hate to give away all the Christmas surprises.

But my fingers have been flying; I have callouses to prove it.

Here are a few of the things I've been doing:

Bleaching "once green" bottle brush trees.

 Nougat or Big Hunk...
Sadly, our last remaining large maple on our parkway had to be cut down.  The trees on our street date back to the 1930's and they are just dying.  You may remember a few years ago when a tree on our parking strip broke off at the trunk in a windstorm and buried two of our girls' cars that were parked under it.
The remaining tree had to go.  It was a sad day for us.
Next spring, we'll be planting new ones.
Can you believe it was the middle of December in this photo, taken last week from the front door?  The temperature hit the high 60's.
Where is our snow?????

  1. I think our tree will be going soon, it isn't very healthy looking. Love Miss Fox in her holiday attire. The socks are great! Is the sock yarn self striping or did you have to change colors that many times?

  2. I hope you had a Merry Christmas. You are blessed with wonderful talents - I am sure your family appreciates it! Here are my wishes for a healthy, fun New Year!

  3. Hi Bonnie! Oh, I can't wait to see ALL of the knitting, you knitting wonder, you!
I hope your Christmas was great! I love that foxy loxy!

  4. Love the socks, I tried to get a skein in the same color-way...but they sadly they were out:( can’t wait to see all your wonderful knitted gifts.

  5. Well, I think you are getting colder weather now, right? Snow? Are the bleached trees going to be put into jars for fall scenes? I want to do that! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas, Bonnie. :) Happy New Year!

  6. Hi Bonnie, cute socks! I wish I could knit, but sadly I don't have the ambition for sewing and such! I hope your Chrisrmas was wonderful and here's to a happy and healthy new year. xo

  7. Haha -- I think you have your snow now LOL! I'm so slow getting to a little blog reading, but, so happy to see your post. Must. Put. Big. Hunks. on the to do list -- if I can ever get caught up! Love the socks -- those are on the list too haha. And sorry about the tree -- I know how sad that is -- why can't they live forever? Oh, and the bottle brush trees -- those are on my list for next year too haha! Happy New Year Bonnie!!!

  8. Hi Bonnie..
Sorry, I didn't make it here to wish you a merry Christmas, but I'm here now wishing you a very Happy New Year!
Hope it's a great year for you!!!

  9. You make the best stuff! After Christmas, I got to visit my Grandma in California. She spends most of her day crocheting and her living room was so full of little animals and things she has made. She gave me some potholders. :)

  10. Our menu is pretty simple. We used to make side dishes but nobody ate them. I got the crab from Costco - it was phenomenal this year. I bake it 20 minutes at 400 and serve it with melted butter, limes and lemons. We grill the tenderloin steaks with Montreal Steak Seasoning and we had a simple salad and steamed artichokes. The Mango Ice Cream Balls are on my blog.
