I'm Back.

I bet you didn't know I was away.  But I was...visiting our oldest daughter in our nation's capital.  It was a great week.  Erin likes these little mice.
So  I knit a few up and we hid them in her room to find after we'd left.  If you're interested in making some of your own, you can find the pattern in this book, by Susan B. Anderson.

We had a great time museum hopping, eating at favorite restaurants, visiting a favorite sister-in-law, and even found time to take a side trip to Pennsylvania.
Now it's back to the routine.

There are leaves to rake and some Christmas knitting to start on.
It's good to be home.

  2. I am hoping that head photo is your home. I LOVE IT! Like the stone, the entrance and windowless creates some mystery . . . Happy you enjoyed being with your daughter in DC.

  4. Thanks for your nice comments. I love that you all come to visit.
Lynne, the header photo is our guest cottage at the Stone House. It is a limestone granary built in 1870 and is original inside, but really cleaned up. We added a bathroom and turned it into a guest house. We love it too. No windows because we got a preservation tax credit and the State historic group wouldn't allow them but now several years have passed and we've met the obligation, we are thinking about adding a small window on the back side for ventilation and egress.

  7. Bonnie, that is so sweet that you hid some around her home. I too have hid sweets around my husband's apartment back in VA. I love that idea and they are the sweetest little mice. Joni
