The Wedding Aftermath

We had a wedding on Saturday.  It looked a bit like this in the early afternoon.

And it looked like this at 4:30.
We had an outdoor reception planned.  This was creek right after it flooded, but that's a story for tomorrow(when I am more rested).

Here is the house today.

When we get a breather, I'll tell you the story of the OUTDOOR/INDOOR wedding reception.  For now, I'm off to clean up the house and put it back together as best I can.  The girls are here and they have been a BIG help.  We couldn't have had this wedding without them.

At least it smells good around here.  After passing out flowers to just about everyone we still have a houseful.  I am enjoying them because fall is just around the corner and the garden flowers will be gone soon.

  1. Oooooooh noooooooo! That flood picture does NOT look good. I can't wait to hear more. I'm sure it was all beautiful, in spite of the mishaps. I hope you can get some rest this week!

  2. It was still beautiful and the food was delicious! Everyone had a great time. Sorry I had to bug out early with that dang Migraine! Just now starting to feel better! Take the next few days to rest and enjoy Erin! :)

  3. I hope that you had a wonderful time regardless of what the weather was doing and that you managed to not get too wet or waterlogged. The bride is truly glowing and radiant and the flowers look beautiful too!

  4. Well, congratulations to the bride and groom.
What a beautiful bride she is, too.

Sorry about the weather woes. I've heard that rain on your wedding day is good luck.

Rest up, and tell us all about it........ later :)

  8. Oh no!! The same thing happened years ago to my dear friend Laurie. She worked on her yard all summer, babied the trees and flowers, then an hour efore the reception, Downpour. They served refreshments onthe ping pong table in the basement. I have never seen a bride who looked more happy and oblivious than her lovely daughter Amy! So it was all good. Congratulations!

  10. How wonderful! I know how crazy that is. Can't believe the weather! Wish the flowers would last longer. Our house smelled so great but the flowers were gone in a few days. We still haven't recovered yet with company coming and going all summer. I finally cleaned out the fridge and freezer and some drawers this week. Take your time recovering and congratulations. At least the weather looks nice at the temple.
