I cast on for Ishbel. The yarn is amazingly soft. I'm using Lotus Yarns MIMI. It's mink...yes mink. Like fur coat only in a fiber and it is soft. Wool Cabin sells it and I am sure they would send it out to you by mail. It does shed quite a bit but I hope that is more a process of the knitting and that it won't be as bad while wearing. The pattern is easy and comes with a chart which I prefer but also has text. It's nice to have a choice. I did find a typo in the chart but hopefully the publisher will be fixing that. The text is correct. I haven't had much time to knit in the last few days but it won't be long until I have this off the needles and blocked.
Just in time for the chilly spring weather. I wasn't expecting to get any use out of this until fall but I think I could be mistaken unfortunately. It is cold, cold, cold.

I know! It's cold here, too! I have my shawl around my shoulders at this very moment. Your shawl is absolutely lovely and I wish I could feel that soft yarn! Shawls are such a useful item! I hope you love yours!
ReplyDeleteMink sounds absolutely fabulous! How soft and wonderful. I never really learned to knit, just those slippers we made in Primary when we turned 12 and a few scarves. Your work is always so beautiful. I could use a shawl - I am tired of freezing.
ReplyDeleteIt looks SO soft and cozy. Another winner:)
