Seeing through the Fog.

Sometimes, when things go wrong, a silver lining appears.  My parents had a bad situation at the beginning of the year that turned out to be a blessing in disguise.  Yesterday my dear father had major surgery as a result.  We hope it was enough.  God gives us tender mercies and we need to recognize them and see them clearly and to have faith that He will hold us in His hand.  The fog will always clear and there will be brighter days ahead.

Last week our next door neighbor died in a tragic plane accident.  He left a grieving family.  He was too young.  I am grateful for every day that I have with my family; the ordinary, simple days.  Each one is a blessing.

  1. It is so good that you can see through the fog. Sometimes we never have "eyes to see" and "ears to hear." God bless you loved ones and friends. (and you)

  2. Oh, how sad. I am so sorry. Years ago we had the neighbor die across the street in a small plane accident. I have known too many people that have died in them and although they say you are more likely to die in a car accident, I have known 4 that died in small planes and none that died in a car. Give that poor family a love and a prayer from me.

The fog was so bad last night we couldn't see 50 feet in front of the car. I hate foggy January weather and we haven't had that in a long time.

  3. Oh Bonnie, I'm sorry to hear about such sadness. Praying that your father will be well and this surgery will be what you hope it will and that your neighbours will be encompassed in comfort. We don't understand everything here, and I'm not sure we ever will fully understand, but somehow have to trust to see through that fog.
