Coming and going.

Half of our family traveled to the beautiful state of Vermont in July to attend the graduation of our oldest daughter, who just graduated with an MFA in creative writing.

She is moving Washington DC to begin another chapter in her life.  She is gifted, talented, kind, and beautiful inside and out.  We will miss her.

Daughter #3 is moving home from Washington DC where she has been working as a press intern for our state senator for the last 4 months.  She is gifted, talented, kind, and beautiful inside and out.  We are happy she is returning home even if it is only for a month until she returns to University.

Daughter #2 recently returned from 2 years in Puerto Rico where she was serving a mission for our church.  We were ecstatic to have her home safe.

We will have 3 of our 4 daughters close by with the return of Daughter #2 this spring.    We are so glad they are here until leaving again for University in the fall.

While I am happy for the success and growth of my children, I sometimes (just once in a while) wish for the old days when I packed them a lunch and sent them out the door to school.  Now they board an airplane.
They are all grown up, sometimes.....(sigh).

  2. How proud you must be to have 4 beautiful daughters! Congratulations to all of them -- it sounds like they're leading happy lives. Isn't it sad that success as mothers means that our children leave us? Although, I must say, I'm glad we live in the time we do -- it's so easy to stay connected to them when they're not nearby.

  6. It definitely tugs at a mom's heart to see her babies all leave, but that's the name of the game. It sure is wonderful though, when they are responsible, happy adults:) What a great reward! Kudos to them, and you too!
