Cheese Bread

Cheese Bread....Yum.

My family loves artisan bread.  I must admit, we love most bread.  I went back to the Artisan Bread in Five Minutes A Day master recipe which I have made many times before.  It's copyrighted but you can find it here

There is a Vermont Cheese bread recipe listed in the book and it uses the master recipe plus adds 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
I used Tillamook sharp cheddar and although it was very good, it could have used double the cheese. 

You can't go wrong with this recipe.  You really can't.  It is crusty and soft and pillowy with great moist crumb.  So good!!!





In the next day or two I am making up the other 1/2 of the batch into some great appetizer rolls with a few additions so stay tuned to this blog.

  6. Bonnie, thanks for sharing the real food love on the two for tuesday recipe blog hop! Question, are there any whole wheat recipes in the five minute artisan bread cookbook or is it all white flour? I am not gluten intolerant, but I have issues with white flour. I want to use sourdough if possible, but am finding it difficult to come up with a good quick alternative to my labor intensive sourdough routine. Keep it real! :) alex@amoderatelife

  7. Hi Alex, You can find many whole wheat and even some gluten free recipes in the follow-up book to ABinFive called Healthy Bread in Five minutes a day. It's got a lot of healthy recipes in it. There are several posts with links to the book on my sidebar. Just look under HBinFive.

  16. Your loaves look beautiful, and so nicely shaped. I made this bread, too. I feel relieved sometimes to make the ABinFive breads. They seem so much more successful to me. The HB breads are a good learning experience, though!
