Does that sound bloodthirsty? Those of you who read my blog may remember a post awhile back about gophers. Yep, we have em...though there is one less as of today. I would post a picture of the burrow and the trap but believe me, YOU DONT WANT TO SEE IT.
I'm waiting for my husband (aka "my knight in shining armor") to come tonight and take it away. I tried. I really did---for a long time. I stood over that hole with my gloves and trash bag. I just couldn't do it. I was raised as a city girl. I hate violence, guns, wild animals and road kill, not necessarily in that order. If it wasn't for the automatic sprinkling system I might just let the gophers tear up the yard (I said might). The good news is there are no new burrows. Does that mean we got them all? Probably not. They are everywhere in town...in the yards, the pastures, and the hayfields. Where are the owls when you need them?
Now, about that skunk we suspect has been hibernating under the stable this winter...

I had some clients out west about 15 yrs ago and being from the Midwest I had no idea just how destructive gophers could be. Trap until they are gone and yes I've seen the traps but they're a necessity.
ReplyDeleteOh, Bonnie! You make me laugh! I can just picture you all geared up waiting for that little varmint. I'm pretty sure you'll be seeing a furry head pop up at some future date, but we can hope they might stay away for a while. This was just what I needed tonight:)
