I have always loved to bake and cook, (or should I say, "I have always loved to eat"?). How else do I get to enjoy great food every day? Recently, I joined a bread group that is making artisan bread. Having baked bread the traditional way, I'm having a great time with this faster method. It has led me to start blogging as a way to keep in touch with my fellow bread bakers. It's good to learn new things. I am not very good at "new". I love antiques, old houses, old recipes, and heirloom vegetables. I do those much better than computers, cell phone applications, and electronics. (Just ask my oldest daughter who spent the time to help me set up this blog).
Our family has a weekend home that we restored in a beautiful, quiet little place called Spring City. The town is nestled in the Sanpete valley, below a majestic cirque called Horseshoe Mountain (that's it just below the fluffy clouds in the picture). After 3 1/2 years of very hard work, we have finally been able to enjoy the fruits of our labors (the Pottawatomie jelly from our orchard is "to die for", I must tell you). The last 2 years have been spent furnishing the home with our collection of antiques and now we are continuing to landscape, plant, and nurture our 1 acre pioneer property and outbuildings. Hopefully, we will get our orchard addition planted this fall. We have worked hard, not only to preserve a bit of the past, but to build something of value for our children.
Our main home is smack dab in the middle of the city. Two very different environments but beautiful , just the same.
