1/2 way there or Do you think I will finish?

This is Christmas at my house today.  Last night...half a men's sock for a size 13 shoe.

This morning, gusset completed and I'm off on the heel.  Only 5 more days to finish.

There's no baking or decorating going on...just knitting.
The girls will be home on Friday and then the holiday will really get started.  Until then, I'll be on the sofa, hopefully with my fingering flying and on fire.
Wish me luck.

  1. Yes! You will definitely make it -- I predict you'll finish those socks just as the girls are coming home. ;-D

I thought of you last night as I was feverishly knitting and had been for about 6 hours. My tendons (is that the right body part?) in my left wrist started to ache - I never have that problem! I don't know how you're managing with so many pairs of socks -- clearly, you're in better shape than I am LOL!

    Good Luck!!!

  2. You must have limber tendons. I don't knit, but I know that a lot of handwork can make my wrists/tendons sore. I predict you WILL finish the socks. Size 13 -- sheesh. Of course they couldn't be just baby socks that you need to finish in just 6 days. Set the girls to baking and all will be well.

  6. You can do it! Have fun with your girls home and Merry Christmas! I still have NOTHING ready, no gifts, no decorations yet. The weekend is my big push to pull it all together. Work has really put me behind, so busy at the hospital. Why oh why do so many people want surgery before the holidays?

  9. This is exactly what I did over the holidays: knitted socks! It was the best Holiday Season, as I did not mind being interrupted (whereas had I been quilting, it would have been a different story). SO GLAD I took up knitting again... Finished a size 11, made a size 8, am working on the gusset of another size 8! Next: a size 11 1/2. A size 13 is huuuuuuuugggggggeeeeee! :-)
