Hoppy Easter

I love knitted toys and  I especially love knitted bunnies this time of year.

Years ago a friend gave me a pattern for Debbie Bliss' bunnies.  I made a few.  I especially loved her bunnies' feet.  See the boy bunny below?  He was donated to a charity auction and I hope he made some child happy.  I just made up my own pattern for his sweater.

Than I bought a Ravelry pattern for Fuzzy Mitten Bunnies.  Love them too!
And then I saw Little Cotton Rabbits.  Exquisite!  Julie sells a pattern for an egg cozy that is similar to her bigger (relatively speaking) bunnies, so I bought that pattern.

I used all of these patterns as inspiration to make my own bunny.  I was trying to "emulate",  Little Cotton Rabbits.  You see, I like Julie's bunnies best of all.  I made the bunny in the green dress a few years ago.  I love Julie's shoes and made mine using techniques I learned from a Mary Jane baby bootie pattern that I knit up a long time ago.
I  wish I had some of Julie's Rabbits but getting to buy them is rarer than Hen's teeth or winning the lottery (you literally have to win Julie's lottery to purchase one of her bunnies) so I had to do my best to knit one for myself.  I can make as many for myself as I want, and I am and having such a good time.

Hoppy Easter, (sorry I just couldn't resist).

If you want similar knitting patterns, click on the links above to purchase them from their designers.  They're all CUTE!!!!

  3. I wish I could knit! I think these bunnies are simply adorable. Middle Daughter is the knitter in the family and I've sent her over to your blog so she can salivate too!

  5. You knitters! I'm so jealous. I love your bunnies, Bonnie. Oh, that sounded so good together (bunnies, Bonnie) that I think you should start a company, Bonnie's Bunnies! I'll buy one.

    Hoppy Easter to you too.

  6. I smiled the entire way through reading your post. It was basically my story too. I've totally given up ever buying one of Julie's bunnies. I used the head from the egg cozy pattern, and I've also kind of adapted my own version of the Fuzzy Mitten body. I still prefer how Julie's legs look like they're set in at the seam. I think your little shoes are cuter than anything though! I could never figure out how to do that, so my poor bunnies just go barefooted.

  10. Bonnie! Your bunny is GORGEOUS! Way to go! I'm so glad you completed a bunny because I never quite got to bunny making. I did search for patterns on Rav.
Your owls are darling, too! Is there anything you can't do? You are amazing!

  11. Hi Bonnie, I think you did a great job with these rabbits, me too are fascinated by Julie's rabbits and got the egg cozy pattern too, but where can I get a pattern that taught me to knit up those feet/shoes?
