Deck the Halls...

And the rooms too (because our hall is too small to deck out much).

We always put up the tree and the decorations the day after Thanksgiving, but two of the girls were home a little early this week so we did it a few days before.  It's nice to have everything up early; more time to enjoy it!

We have our traditions in decorating...
My Dad's hand-carved Christmas collection resides on the living room mantel.  Dad presents my Mom and siblings and me a new one every year after Thanksgiving dinner.
(Since we got the ark this year, Dad's a little behind, but we did add a tree on Thanksgiving with the promise of something else to come later in December).

The needlepoint stockings are hung below the carvings with care; except for the Abby's stocking.  I'm still stitching on hers but it will be done next year for sure.  Then there will be four.
Old collectibles adorn the family room mantel.  There are 4 hand knit fabrci stockings as well (knitting is a bit faster than needlepoint).

The living room mantel is getting crowded so this Santa took up residence on a table in front of  "his sleigh" or one just like it.  That's my husband's grandmother on the left with her Father and younger brother, out for a Christmas Day sleigh ride.
And finally the tree, with our collection of blown glass ornaments.  It's the same every year but we like it.
Bring on the Christmas Season!
