Pumpkins and More Pumpkins

I love fall... and pumpkin patches.  This one is the best one I've ever been too.  Beck Family Farms in Centerfield, Utah.

This was the straw maze for the tiny ones.
We came home with quite a haul.  We loaded up the trunk with gourds, pumpkins, and squash.  We even got some decorative Indian corn.

The owner, Lori Beck, was friendly.  This is her business alone.  She farms 20 acres of pumpkins, apart from her husbands very large commercial pumpkins enterprise.  She had more heirloom varieties for sale then I have ever seen at a market.  I think she dida great job of displaying her wares.  They were labeled well;  you could tell which ones are edible.  B. thought the straw maze looked like it would be fun the the little ones.  The pay box was a cute little blue birdhouse by the front of the yard; all honor system.  There were little pull wagons provided with pen and paper to keep track of prices.  It was so convenient.

The hardest part was getting the 50 pounders out of the car and onto the porch.  Good thing I have a strong husband.  Now all I need to do is to spruce up the porches and rearrange them.

  1. Gosh, it looks like you're all ready for fall -- your pumpkins look wonderful. I'm still in denial -- 'cause after fall, ... well, I just can't say it.

  3. What a lot of pumpkins! 50 lbs is a lot for a pumpkin, isn't it?
