I finally finished the rag braided rug even though I thought I would never get it finished. Turns out, I miss braiding; it is so fun to do. So I started another one, this time much smaller, maybe 2' x 4'. Stay tuned for the finished project. I still am just using scrap cotton fabric from my stash. I love using up scraps. I can't begin to imagine the cost of this rug if I had to buy all the fabric.
Here's another photo of the first 5 1/2' x 7' rug on the bedroom floor. I think I might have a table runner on the board next.
Oh, Bonnie! How beautiful! What an art braiding is. You're good with colors!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your rug, and have a similar one that I picked up at an auction many years ago. Trouble is it's starting to wear out, and I would like to make my own replacement. Could you please share the instructions/pattern with me...i'm hoping it's a link?
ReplyDeletethanks and blessings,
Niki
I am crazy about rag rugs and I love yours. Do you have a tutorial or where I can get instructions? I searched your blog and couldn't find any. I have PLENTY of stash to use for a project like this!
ReplyDeleteI love your braided rug!
ReplyDeleteThis rug is so beautiful! I would love to learn how to braid rugs....maybe sometime we could put together a rug braiding class. Did I just say road trip? :)
ReplyDeleteEileen, Road trip sounds wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThanks to you all for your kind comments. There is no tutorial yet. A good friend taught me how to braid and I am teaching a class in September in St. George Utah for the Utah Quilt Guild Annual Quilt festival. The classes are open to the public. Here's the link if anyone is interested.
