I love fresh eggs.  I love everything about them; the bright orange of their yolks, the fresh taste, and especially the pretty shell colors.  I like the green and blue ones the most.
My family teases me because I tend to leave them in the fridge and look at the pretty color of the shells for a long time, which really defeats the point of fresh eggs, I know. My friend Parker gifted me these from his backyard coop. I think I'll look at them for a while longer.

  1. I so agree, I love fresh eggs too. I love the cool colors and the taste wow! Soon I hope to be getting some fresh eggs from my siser-in-law's chickens, she must have about 20 hens. I also love watching chicken's walk around the yard, great way to pass a sunny Sunday afternoon.

  2. They ARE beautiful. I think I'd be just like you -- display them with flowers or something -- totally not their purpose LOL!

  3. There is nothing better than fresh eggs. My husband is still resistant to the idea of a backyard coop, but one of my good friends just picked up 20 chicks, so I should be receiving fresh eggs this autumn. Love the blue ones! Thanks for sharing.

  5. I love my fresh eggs too. Every time I go to the coop, I think of how pretty they are to me. And so delicious! You need one of those porcelain egg crates to set on the counter or in the frig so you can see your pretty eggies....
