We're gearing up for Christmas and winter, but before we leave November behind we had a few things to wrap up.
We celebrated a birthday. We're so proud of the woman you've become, Abby. We love you.
Some of us chased an historic steam train.
We grilled a bit before it snows.

You'll notice that stockings are not "hung by the chimney with care". That's because I couldn't find the rest of the stocking hangers; I'll keep looking.

We made Friendship blocks for her when she was sick. Now they'are being made into a quilt to be donated in her name to a charity benefit and auction next year. Jeanne asked me to applique a little something onto a partially finished block. Shirley will be missed.
Your house looks lovely and welcoming. I'm really looking forward to Christmas and all the snow. I'm so sorry about your friend, it's nice that you're doing something in her honour.

Hello, popping over from Pom Pom's Childlike Christmas to admire your hearth and your heart. I imagine they are inextricably entwined!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt blocks are so lovely and so meaningful.
ReplyDeleteYour house looks great! I am missing some things, too. I'll have to keep looking!
Week #1 of "A Childlike Christmas" was FUN!
So sorry to hear about your friend Shirley. What a wonderful gesture to donate the blanket.
ReplyDeleteThe salmon looks wonderful. We keep grilling all winter. When my kids got married and didn't have grills they thought they couldn't cook! Your post made me laugh, I forgot to hang the stockings on the mantel too. I have 2 decorative ones that go up now and the family ones come out Christmas Eve but we don't have any out. Thanks for the reminder. Your mantel is so pretty even without the stocking.s
Sorry to hear about your friend Bonnie. Isn't life a fragile thing?
ReplyDeleteLove that shot of your mantle -- your home looks so warm and inviting! And Happy Belated Birthday to your sweet Abby!
Wait! Can it really be December already???
You have much to be grateful for, and your home looks so warm and cozy, Bonnie.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about the death of your friend, Shirley. What a fitting way to pay tribute to her.
