Finally finished

I took a toe-up sock class at the Wool Cabin a year ago.  I had high hopes, finished a pair of socks, and started another pair.  After knitting the third sock, I decided that I didn't like the toe method I was using, my cuff adaptation, or the yarn that wasn't plyed well, and so one lone finished sock sat in my sewing room for a year.  Since I have two feet and I have fallen in love with my first pair of hand knit wool socks this record cold winter, I checked a book out from my local library on toe-up socks.  And this week I finally knit the second sock.  Just in time.  It's so coldddddddd........................(that's my teeth chattering).  I don't block them.  They will do that themselves when I put them on and I figure the ugly cuff will be hidden under my pants.

By the way, I loved the new toe pattern.  Here is the book.  I've already bought a lovely heather gray sock yarn to cast on another pair.

  2. I am not ready to tackle socks yet since I have only been knitting about a year. Started my second shawl for a gift and I have been getting practice on those and dish cloths. These are beautiful and since I am not a sock knitter I do not see anything wrong with the cuffs. Beautiful!

  4. You are amazing! The socks are darling. I could have used a pair of those on Tuesday! Still can't get over how cold it was. It almost felt like a heat wave at 35 degrees today!
